ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR, John Saunders, a married man, 43 years of age, nho resides at No, 4a Tory Place, and a labourer by occupation, was knocked down bv 'a motorcar in Vivian Street shortly before 11 o'clock last wening. It is st-aJcd that Saunders was crossing Vivian Street when ilio accident happened. Dr. Mackin was summoned, ami ho ordered a removal to tho' Hospital, where it was found that the rations was suffering from spinal injuries. These, however, nro not regarded as' serious at present. Charles Holman, an okl resident of Lyall, was killed instantaneously to-day by being thrown from liis trap aiid kickod on the. head by tho horse, His daughter was also thrown out, but escaped with a shaking. Tho harness broke and tlio ,horso bccamo unmanageable. AN UNHINGED MIND. Ashburion, December 5. At an inquest to-day touching tho death of William Baker, whoso dead body was found hanging from a rafter at the brick kiln last Mondnv morning, the Cot'oncr returned a verdict to the effect that deceased had hanged himself while of unsound mind.
BOY'S FALL ENDS FATALLY. Auckland, Dcecmber 5. Clarence Lionel Roid, 12 years of ago, died yesterday as a result of an accident which ho met- with a fortnight agG. Uo was found by his brother lying unconscious under a tree on liis' father's farm, and it is supposed that ho had 1 alien off tho tree. A medical examination showed that ho had sustained a compound fracture of one arm and one log, and was suffering from concussion of the brain. At an inquest held this morning tho coroner returned a verdict in accordance with tho medical evident.
