Great floods have occurred in Dallas, Texas, due to the sudden rise of the Colorado River. •Seven persons have' been drowned, and tile tai-mew' troys have sustained enormous damage. _ One hundred persons are marooned in the village of Grand Prairie, when tho floods cut off communication. FLOODS SPREADING. (Uec. December 4, 1].30 p.m.) Now Yci'h, December I. Tho Dallas Hoods are spreading. Fifteen thousand people are homeless within an area of _()() miles by 1(10 miles, and scores iiaie falien refuge on tree logs and floating houses. 'J'he railroads have been forced to suspend whole, sections of line, Thy j town of Vnco is under water. | Troops have been ordered out to prevent looting, 'i.'ho town of Hetty was flooded, an.l the inhabitants, fearing further inundations, are Ueoiiig. There is little suffering, as yet. The charitable organisations surrounding tiie cities affected aro caring for tlio homeless.
