A FARMERS' SCHOLARSHIP.
•REFORM LEAGUE SCHEME. The members of the Women's Political Reform League at Auckland aro convening a mooting to be held in the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, this afternoon to consider the question of establishing a scholarship, or some other memorial, to colobrato the part played by tho farmers of tho province, during tho recont industrial crisis. The idea is that tho endowment of an agricultural scholarship, open i'or competition among the sons of farmers, would bo an appropriate memorial of what is considered to bo an important occasion Ui tho history of the province. Earl Nelson, who is a Roman Catholic, has closed tho.ancient Anglican church at Standlynch, near Salisbury, where he has his seat, on the ground that it belongs to the family estate.
