ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MOTOR-CAR AND CYCLE COLLIDE. A rather curious motor accident caused a crowd of jipoplo to assemble outside the Central Hotel on Lambton Quay soon after 5 o'clock last evening. A motor-car driven by Air. Letter was proceeding at a moderate pace northwards' along the Quay, when, owing to a dray baing stationed alongside the korti on tile opposite side of the road to the Central Hotel,- Mr. Lester found that to get past he had' to swerve well So the oilier side, so as t to ovoid the dray as well as a following traincar. In doing so ha slowed up almost to a standstill, when a young motor-cyclist, riding a new Iludge-Multi machine, travelling southward at a fair rate of spew], butted head on into the ear. The result v.as almost comical to witness. The rider was throw!! right forward between llie. bandies, then with the rebound ho subsided'back into his seal, entirely uninjured. Die sauio could not bo said of the cycle. The front tvre wont oil with a bang, and ' the wheel crumpled up in a most extraordinary fashion, liy doing -so it acted as a fender, and' -saved (he machine from any other damage, slid probably its rider Loin serious injury.
