INQUEST AGAIN ADJOURNED. The adjourned .inquest concerning tin death of the child Tholma May Davis, whoso body was found under » house at Ijbna Day on November M last, was continued boforo llr.'W. G. Hi'ddeli, 5.M.," Coroner, yesterday afternoon. ' Evidence was givei'i by Dr. .FyJfo to the effect that the body was that of. mi extremely wcll-iumrislwd child, apparently a i'enmle between tlio ago of eiffhtccn inoutiis and two years. Th.:ra were no external marks of violence 1 , and it was quite impossible, under tlio circumstances, to stale the cause <f death. If.the infant had died from a natural cause it must have Own a very acute one.' Winifred H. Myall, a resident nf Christchurcli, gave corfoborntivo evidence tn that given at tlio previous hearing of the evidence. The latter stated tlur.fc■ his daughter did not have the deceased 'child'with'her on the day she had left, but had had her sister's young boy. ' She had had two dressing-eases with • lier, and had left behind a perambulator. Miss Jennie Dixon, steward on tlio Wahine, stated that accused had tfnvellod by the steamer to 'Wellington, and was accompanied by. a boy about four .years old. , At this stage the- inquest was adjourn* cd until 10..10 a.m. io-da.v.
