THE SEAMEN'S ATTITUDE.
The most important strike development of the hour is the action of the Duncdin Branch of the Seamen's Union at yesterday's meeting. The Dmwdin seamen condemned the methods of the Red Federation, and upheld the action of their secretary. This, in spite of the presence at the meeting of the Auckland and Wellinctoii delegates. Mi',. Belchee, it will be recalled, made protest the manner in which the strikers" were being led into trouble and difficulties by the strike bosses. The fact that ho has now announced his intention of taking a more active part in the trouble is a hopeful sign that he may at least be able to find a way for the members of his own union to escape from the hardship they are having to submit to as the result of thcblunderiui:; of the leaders of the Ked Federation. The proposal to deal with the position of the seamen, separately contains possibilities of an encouraging nature.
