At the Repertory Theatre, Liverpool, Irish players from the Abbey Theatre, London, produced "Tho Playboy of - the Western World." In view of a possible hostile reception the gallery was closed, but the "gods" invaded the family circle, ami threw, blackthorns on to the stage, narrowly missing tho actors. Twenty men were ejected by tho police, and tho performance was ended amid boohing and hissing.
Tho season was in consequence cancelled.
