A meeting of tho newly-formed Highland 'Socfetv of Wellington was held last evening, l'rovious meotings of tho society have already taken place, aud, at these, tho rules and constitution wero drawn up. Thn objccts of the society aro to preservo and cultivate a knowledge of. tho traditions and languago of .•the"ancient Gaol, to encourago the wearing of tho national costume, to advanco i>ho' study 'of national music, to promote' Highland sports and dancing, and encourago social intercourse amongst clansmen and their descendants. Last night a Management Committee was 'elected, and t'lioy will arrange a date to this inaugural gathering.
