Shortly beforo 5 o'clock 'last evening one of tho strike pickets, Arthur Tiifihi, managed to cludo the police at the barracks, and make his way .-down to the Arbitralionists, who were working tho Imoreargili. Tiv-ft charges woro preferred against Th(lsh—(lJ that, an November 28, at Difiicdiii, lie did use ol>> scone language on liitchouer Street wharf, and (2) tliat on November 28 he did us® insulting language in n public pinco within tho hearing of passers-by, with intent to provoke a tncu:h of tiio peace. Mr. Tnviu .appeared for. accused, and asked for a remand. Sub-Inspector Foully, who prosecuted, said that -he had no objection to a remand. _ , JJr. Irwin then asked for bail. The Suh-Jnsuoctor stated that not a great, deal was known against accused, lie l;nd been before tho Court twice bofore for drunkenness. lii iixiiift bail he would ask his Worship to .consider iko matter of asking accused to find sureties of the peace. .
