RIFLE SHOOTING.
KARORI DEFENCE FIFLE CLUB. The Karori Club experienced very unfavourable weather for the opening of its championship series. on Saturday, ft strong southerly wind blowing across the range nudo tho shooting very diliicult. At times as much as fifteen degrees of windage was required to keep a correct line of aim. In spite of theso conditions somo very <;ood scores were registered, three competitors breaking S)(), out of a. possible 100. Rifleman iMaiscy's performance at 500 yards wa3 particularly crcditablc. The suburbs Defence Rifle Club have completed their second match in their second sories at Broadway range, Miramar, at ranges of 500, 600, and) 800 yds., for trophies presented by Messrs. W. F. Hornig and Co., T. Archibald, H. R. Hunt, and Mrs. J. P. Luke. Tho weather during the week gave riflemen some useful hints as to how to keep on tho target.
