Wednesday evening witnessed 1 a splendid eight-oared rowing race on tho nangainii River between, crews roprc■seiit;i!i| tlie Wanganui Cdlcgiato School and tho Wangainii Rowing Club. As t-lic one composed of boys and the other of full-grown irien, ono* would suppose that tho race would bo somewhat uneven, hub mich was not the case. The lads had been well-trained, and for a mile and a half of tho tivo-milo course giiro the elnb crew Eonietbiiiß to tliink about. Tho result was a, win for the club-by about half a length, which was a- notable achievement—for the college boys.
