ATTEMPTED MURDER.
ARTHUR NICHOLSON FOUND GUILTY. (By Telosrnpli— Press Association.) Auckland, November 27, Having fired' a revolver through the window of a room in the Nurses' Institute, whore his wife was residing, Arthur Nicholson was tried at the' Supreme Court en a charge of attempted murder. There were four counts in the indictment: (1) Attempted murder; (2) discharging a firearm with intent to do grievous bodily harm; (3) assaulting his wife; and (4) assaulting the matron of the institute. The jury, after deliberating for about two hours, asked to be redirected en tho question of intent. This II is Honour did and the jury returned a verdict of guilty on all four counts, adding tho strongest possible recommendation tn mercy, on account of tho. provocation received by accused. His Honour said ho agreed with tho recommendation and would give tho ease very careful consideration. He ordered Nicholson to be brought up for sentence on Tuesday,
