AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.

THE PARLIAMENTARY TOUR. . The Parliamentary arrangements in connection with tho Auckland Exhibition have now been definitely fixed. Tho Legislative Council adjourned yesterday until Wednesday next, and tho House on its rising to-night will adjourn until 7.30 on Tuesday evening. About 30 legislators in all will bo present at the opening and about a dozen members ol the Legislative Council will leavo by tho midday train to-day, The members ot tho Houso who intend to make the trip will leave by tho extra express at 12.35 p.m. on Saturday, and arrive in Auckland on Suuday morning. Tho whole party will leave Auckland for Wellington on tho return by special train about midnight on Monday, after the City Council banquet. Tho Ministry will bo represented by tho Prime Minister and tho Minister of Railways (Hon. AY. H. Herries). Tho following members aro also joining tho party:—Mr. I l '. W. Lang (Speaker;, Sir Joseph' Ward (Leader of the Opposition), Messrs. Anderson (Matauraj, Bradney (Auckland West), Brown (Napicr), Coates (Kaipara), Dickson (Parnell). Glover (Auckland Central), Harris (Waitemata), Hiuc marsh (Wellington South), M'Callum (Wairau) ; Payne (Grey Lynn), Poland I Ohinemuri), Reed (Bay of Islands), Scott (Otago Central), Webb (Grey), and Wilson (Taumarunui).

OPENING DAY ON MONDAY. The Auckland Exhibition, which has been' busily in preparation for many months past, is ready for opening, and the inaugural ceremony will take placo on Monday morning, 'it says much for tho good management and energy of tho Exhibition authorities that although their difficulties havo bean many and not of their own making, it has been possible to complete the Exhibition in time to open it on tho date which was fixed at tho outset of the operation:;. Sonic exhibitors havo boen unable to get some of their material to Auckland yet, but the amount is not enough seriously to interfere with tho completeness of the. big show; otherwise ovcrything is in full running order. The great sideshow" park, especially, has been completed and ready for somo time.

"Undoubtedly tho most powerful attraction to tho Exhibition is tho Koyal Artillery Band, which lias just completed a. brief tour from Dunrdin to Auckland, giving concerts on tho way. Those concerts have given many thousands of people, a taste of the nuisical faro which will be available at the Exhibition. Tho band will play every day, and with a few exceptions all the concerts will bo held in tho open air, without any ohargo beyond that for admission.

On Tuesday will begin a five days' flower carnival, ending with ji sweet pea pageant next Saturday. Another sbow of carnations and sweet ]>cas will be held on tlie last two days of the month. Athletic sports will be hold on ' Wednesday evening next, and on tho afternoon of December 20. On tlie evening of December 12 there will bo a fireworks display, and on Christmas Day tho I?oval Artillery Band will give asaered concert. An important event in wjiicb the Exhibition is indirectly concerned 13 the Dominion Agricultural and Pastoral Show on December 10, 11, 12, and 13.
