AUCKLAND EXHIBITION.

. OPENING ON MONDAY. The Auckland Exhibition is to, be opened on Monday, the date originally lixed for it. In spile of the difficulties that have amen of late, the. work of getting the exhibits into the. buildings has gone, on in a satisfactory way, and the ceremony will take place, on Monday morning. Invitations havo been sent out to tho Mayors of all towns in the Dominion, and to a large number of other prominent men, and a distinguished assembly will gather for the. inaugural proceedings. The Exhibition claims to bo the largest and most complete of its kind ever held in the Dominion, and is the most nttraetivelr laid out temporary slunv-plnce which New Zealand has yet seen. The. prospect of a successful issue to tho big show is very bright, and tho main ol° jeet of the promoters, the provision of a. substantia! sum for the improvement of the principal domain in the city, should be achieved without difficulty. The executive is pinning its faith largely in Ihe Royal Artillery Hand as a "drawing'' eleiiicnl, and the famous band, which arrived jn Duncdin last week, and which has I ravelled through New Zealand giving concerts on tic nay, has had little short of a,triumphal progress. lii addition lo the Uvodailv Inc. concerts to ho given by the band, the huge park of side-shows, Wonderland, should prove a constant source of pleasure and amuuMimut lo the crowds. Tho Art (lallerv, which is lillc:! with nic Lures specially collected f,;r the Kxbibition from the English yn.-.l Scottish Galleries, is declared by tl-Ase who-have seen the pictures to colli))/is:; the finest collection of works of art ever brought to New' Zealand. There will be a splendidly arranged a<|unrium, containing a large, variety- of. iuterestiiA- specimens of fish of 'rare kinds", iuchk'ing some vcrv bizarre, creatures from Japan. The Inhibition should afford :> capital opportunity for a pleasant holiday, especially for those who have not been in the warmer northern parts of the Dominion. Travel has been much facilitated by the arrangement made by the Railway Department for the is:nie of return tickets from all stations at excursion fines, which w.ill he obtainable throughout the period of the Exhibition
