Mills (Hawera), FRUIT INDUSTRY. ; ASSISTANCE FROM THE STATE. i A Bill entitled tlio Fruit Preserving Industry Bill ■was introduced .into tho Hoiiso of Representatives yesterday. Tlio. principal provision in tho Hill is I hat l>y which tho Minister, of Finance is authorised to raise sums of money not exceeding £25,000 in one year i'or tho establishment of fruit preserving works. From these moneys the Minister of Agriculture is to be'authorised to make advances not exceeding in any taso £3000 for' the purpose of establishing cold stores for friiit, fruit canning works, and other works in connection with tho preservation of fruit.
