COLLINS UNABLE TO TOUR. (By Telegraph—l'res3 Association.) Christchurch, November 26. D. G. Collins, of Wellington, is unable to accompany the Now Zealand team to Australia owing to sickness, and R. Somerville (Auckland) fills the vacancy. WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. £3UO FROM ART UNION. The Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association met on Tuesday. There ivero present:— Messrs. C. G. Wilson (chairman), E. M. Bccchey (secretary), F. Martin (treasurer), M. J. Croinbie, A. A. George, J. Fanning, C. Hickson, and Mason. Tho chairman stated that the Art Union' had resulted in a net piolit of over £300. Appreciation avus expressed of the work of the Art Union scrretaiy (Air. C. C. J. Bay), who is to be piesentod with a cheque for £2o in recognition of his efforts to make tho scheme a success. The committee also recorded its appreciation of the efforts and enthusiasm of Mr. C. G. Wilson, the originator of tho scheme. .Mr. Wilson remarked that ho had set out to realise 4/401), and he believed that but for the :;triko his estimate Avould have materialised. Respecting the' match Avhieh Mr. I). Reese, of Christchurch, ivas to have brought, to Wellington to play a Wellington team some little time back— the strike caused tho match to bo postponed—Mr. Reese suggested that a game should be set doivn for February next. The matter will bo gone into later.
