At a meeting of farmers and business muii held in Grey town on Monday riigbt the following resolution was passed":—"That this meeting, representative of tbo farmers and business men of Grcytow'n and surrounding district, wishes to record its strong condemnation of tbo tactics of the Leader of the Opposition and some of his followers in the disgraceful waste of time and money caused by stonewalling during the present session, designed, in our opinion, to delay tlio passago of needed reforms and to embarrass tbo Government diirm« tbo progress of tho strike. Also that the Government be complimented upon its action and tbo maimer in winch it cKalt with tho industrial crisis in its determination to maintain law and order, and to provido that leaders of Labour, Socialists, and tbo Federation of Labour will not bo allowed to terrorise, tbo people of New Zealand or interfere with Labour unionists who are registered under tho Arbitration Act 1< urther that this meeting pledges itself to assist tho Government in carrying out its policv to its utmost power. ■\ttiio meeting of tbo Carterton BorouMi Council last night tho following resolution'was passed: "This council desires to express its strong appreciation of tbo splendid efforts of tho fanners and others to keep open tbo port or \\ ellington during tho industrial crisis, and urges its representatives on tho Har'bour Board to use their every effort to prevent the possibility of those men who noblv carried out tho work on tlie-wharves being deprived of their positions at a later date."
