IN order to conserve c»a!, and thus render certain a continuous and ample supply of gas until the present labour difficulties are ended, the Company desires to intimate that, at considerable expense to themselves, they are utilising oil in the manufacture of a portion of the gas supplied. The gas so supplied is equal ill illuminating and treating effect to all coal gas, but tor proper combustion requires a less volume u£ air. Consumers having difficulty through the gas "lighting back*;' arc therefore advised to reduce the air supply to then cookers or ether burners, wlien the 'difficulty will bo at once removed. In cases whero consumers are unable to make the requisite adjustment (hey aro requested to communicate without delay either with tho Coiaplalnts Offic® (Telephone No. 155) or by postcard, ivnil their requirements will receive prompt attention.
