She became acquainted witliliim through a matrimonial ngoncy, and lio frankly told her that ho wanted monoy to dovelop a New Zealand mine.
'Ilio widow raised tho money on her life insuranco policy, and paid it over with tho idea that it would be, utilised in tho purchase of mino machinery, but tlio man then disappeared.
