BY FEDERATION. It was recently announced thai, tho executive of the Amalgamated Societv of Hailway Servants bad rejected the call of- the Federation of Labour for a strike. Notwithstanding this, the Red Federation are still using endeavours to induce the society to act. A member of the society told a reporter yesterday that each of the branches was again being circularised by the .Federation. He added that there \was little likelihood of a response, as the number of railway men who were in sympathy with the strike were iii the minority. The chance of tho Federation receiving financial assistance from the society was also small. This new move by tho Federationists took place this week.
