SYDNEY'S QUARANTINE EMBARGO.

Melbourne, November 20. • Tho Federal, Cabinet will discuss the Smallpox Conference's "report . without delay. • It is/anticipated that if the New South Wales Government accepts the recommendation, and givos satisfactory assurances to adopt stringent measures for dealing with cases >in Sydney, and otherwise preventing the spread of the disease, the embargo on Sydney will'bo lifted. Replying to a question in tho House as to whother. the Government intended to remove the" quarantine embargo at Sydney, find, if'So, what action would he taken to protect. the other States, Mr. Groom (Minister for the Interior) said that the report of the Inter-State Conference was now being considered by the various Stato Governments, and nothing' definite has yet been done. (Rec. November 21, 0.30 a.m.) ' Sydney, November 20. The New South Wales Government has decided to accept tho Federal Government's conditions for the lifting of the quarantine embargo, as suggested by the Interstate Medical Conference, and tlio necessary steps will he taken tomorrow to establish tho precautions proposed. One case of smallpox was reported in tho city to-day, and also caso at Maclean.
