November. 19, 1.20 a.m.) Sydney, November 18, When tho Australian Federation of Labour asked Mr, Cook (the Federal Prima Minister) to prevent the New Zealand labour troublo involving Australia, Mr. Cook replied asking for a. clearer expression of the Federation's wishes. Tho Federation has now written oontending that tho New Zealand employers are attempting, by bogus union's, to capture the machinery of tho Arbitration Court. The Federation regards such unionists as blacklegs, and Boats loaded by them as "black." The Australian Government,' suggests the .Federation, lias power to stop such boats coming ta Australia, seeing that it has tli* power to stop vessels {'rota brings ing smallpox or yellow fever. "Wo contend that the Commonwealth Government ought not t© assist tho big shipping companies to depress the conditions of tho workers in New Zealand, but should'endorse the;:action of the Foderot'ion,"'wMch' "r-oMcta the opinion of the majority of the citizens of Australia, who are of opinion, that humanitv should stand 'before trado and commerce,"
