Arthur Gilbert Vial, aged 23, has been remanded cu a chargo of sending a threatening letter to: Mr. Hill (chairman of the Geelong Harbour Trust) which read: "I need £500. Unless this •is lodged at the General Post Office, Melbourne, before next Tuosday, I am going to shoot 3 - ou. I want money for clothing and medical.assistance, and to help mo generally, ' If given a chance I shall distinguish myself as one of the greatest statesmen of . modern times." Viol nloaded that the letter was only "bluff." Hill is Viol's uncle.
