RADIUM AND DEAFNESS.
GERMAN DOCTOR'S ACCOUNT OF REMARKABLE CURES. Dr. Hugcl, in. an article on tho treatment by radium of diseases of the ears, some of which hnvo hitherto defied treatment, points out the interesting fact that tho emanations which in tho treatment of cancer destroy the tissues, in this case rejuvenate both nerves and tissues. The doctor treated almost all kinds of deafness —gradual decay and chronic disease, as well as deafness resulting from sickness or accidents —and it is stated that almost all forms benefited by the treatment, which has the merit of being painless and requiring very small quantities of mesothoriuin, as the radium preparation is known. Eight to twelve applications, and a total of ono to five milligrammes of mesothorium aro sufficient in most cases, so that doctors and hospitals can easily apply tho treatment.—-"Daily News."
