'/ V PALMERSTON MEETING. (By Teteenaph.—Special Correspondent.) Palmerstori, November 17. The Palmerston branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railwayman met on Sunday,' when the president (Mr. W. T. .Wilson) outlined the railwayman's ,posi- : tion as affected by the strike. A communication' was received from -the De-partmentstating-that railway employees would not be asked to do wharf labourers' work; The meeting generally expressed disagreement with tho.attitudo of the strikers, anil resolved to take no action witih (reference jtlhereto. The meeting also rejected an appeal from , Wang'anui for'a levy to aid the strikers' fund, though several members will contribute individually.
