The erciv of the Rcunteta Were entertained on board tlio vessel on Friday night with a delightful musical evening by a party from the Missions to Seamen. The concert was held on tlio promenade deck, and was'of an iinpromptu charaotor. The programme comprised violin, piano, and vocal solos, together with choruses and elocutionary items, all of which were much appreciated. Mr. W.. Olipliant, chief officer, expressed the thanks of both officers and crew for tho oiijoyatile evening provided bv the visiting friends, and called for three 'cheers, which were lustily given. Mr. W. E._ Cocks, the nnssiauer, explained that it was part of his plan to provide ?oni.e Jileasant rccroation for tlio seaifteit Who are confined to their skips dtirfug these days of strike, and explained that numerous frieotls had willingly seconded his 'efforts. Harper and Newton siipplied vocal items, and the Misses Dix and Violet- Joliitsnn elocutionary Relections. Sereral items were also given by niotnbers of t!u> ship's company.
