RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE SUBURBS DEFENCE CLUB. The Suburbs Defence Riflo Club'continued their trophy shooting on Saturday at Broadway range, Miramar, at jranges of 300 yards and 500-yards for trophies presented by Messrs. A. E. Keriiot, H. Britton, "S. G. Ross, and Captain Kinsey. The weather was not very favourable for good shooting, the light being bad at times, and there were occasional showers which made things uncomfortablo for tho competitors. Next Wednesday and Saturday the club will open with its second series at- ranges of 600 yards and 800 yards—a ten-shot match. The club reports that it is frequently receiving visitations from petty thieves, who steal all tho sash cords from their target frames and the flag poles. ' A CLASS., 300 ,500 . „ _ „ yds., yds. The executive of the Wellington Rifle Association ar© hard at worlt preparing for their annual meeting which takes place at Trentham on December 26 and 27. The programmes for the meeting will be delivered to tlho various rifle clubs in the Dominion this week, and the executive state that they are looking forward to a record meeting. . OLD NAVALS' CLUB. The Old Navals' Rifle Club fired the second round of its first series of five competitions on Saturday at its Miramar range.
