A DESPERATE GANG OF CRIMINALS.

Aβ the result of several days' shadowing of a suspect who had been overheard in a conversation, detectives paid a surprise visit to a houso itt PadduigtoH., After a fiery fight, during which the suspect wounded two of tho detectives with a knuckleduster, ho was arrested, and ten bags of jewellery, the contents of which are valued at £1000, and which were tlio proceeds of recent robberies, wore seized. The police declare that a desperate gang of foreign criminals is operating in Sydney. Following on the seizure of the stolen jowellory, a- youth named Taylor has been arrested. (Rec. November 15, 0.15 a.m..) Sydney, November 14. Taylor's arrest is ,not connected with the IVldingtoii jewellery seizure, but on 'suspicion of his connection with, a jewellery theft at Woollahra. ;
