METHODIST SYNOD.

The morning session of the Methodist Synod was opened by tho chairman, tho Bev. S. J. SarpeH. After the Rev. J. Ward Bad offered prayer tho minutes wore read and the journal signed. At the Ministers' Committee, which followed tlio sermon and book-list of tho ltov. A. O. Harris was reported on, and it was resolved to recommend tho conference, to ordain him subject to the written, examination report being satisfactory.

During tho afternoon the report of the trial sermon and book-list of the Rev. A. Hopper was submitted and approved, and it was unanimously resolved to recommend conference to pass him iu his third year, provided tho written examination be satisfactory. The report of the trial sermon and hook-list of tho Rev. C. L. Carr was submitted and approved, and it was resolved to recommend the conference to pass him in his second yoar, subject to nis written examination being satisfactory. The report- of tho sermon, book-list, and work upon tho circuit of tho Rev. P. T. Harris was approved, and it was resolved to recommend tho eoiiforonce to place him up on a circuit nest year. It was decided to hold a ministerial retreat during the summer.
