"CANCER" VERSUS "SCAB."
.(To tho. Editor.) , Sir, —Tho,now name "Cancer'' for tho Federation of Labour seems to be a most appropriate olio. Tho word "scab" means a healing growth formed by nature to cover and' protect a wound. But the dreaded "cancer" is a Malignant growth ; wliich~cat3 into and destroys tho ilraman body, just as its prototype, the Federation of Labour, with its crafty and plausible leaders and its deluded and unreasoning followers, is now doing its best to bring ruin and distress, both social and.financial, not only upon themselves, but on all tho good law-abiding people of this fair country. Tho new j:amo "Cancer" is therefore b tli ; applicable 'and appropriate, and. perhaps ■also somewhat retaliatory in its expression and its use. If it has come to 6tay, tho Federaiionists; are as welcome to it as they aro deserving of it.—l am, etc., .... v.: ■ ... ,:"SCAB." Auckland,'' November 12, 1913.
