Speaking at the Lord Mayor's banquet in the Guildhall, Mr. Inotiye, the Japanese Ambassador to Great Britain, saiil that it was a source of much gratification to be able to announce that tho diplomatic relations between Britain and Japan had . never been more satisfactory. "It is scarcely necessary to assuro you," he said, "that Britain and Japan are determined to be extra loyal to their compact." Ho hoped that the Alliance would continue to stand as a guarantee of peace, and bo tho means of consolidating their mutual and material interests in the Far East.
