November 12, 9.25 p.m.) • Sydney, November 12. * : In connection with the Camperdown i shooting case last month, when a man famed Leslie Coves was reported to /have shot his brother Victor in the stomach, and afterwards shot himself fatally,-the inquest, postponed pending the recovery of the wounded man, has just been held. A verdict was returned' that the wound was self-inflict-ed, but whether accidentally or not there was no evidence to show.
Victor Coves, the brother, gave evidence that he and his brother were friendly. They were talking in the yard when his brother drew a revolver, saying that he wa3 going to shoot a rat. [The witness tried to get the revolver,, end in the struggle that ensued, the Weapon went off, accidentally wounding nim. He ran away, and afterwards heard a second shot., Leslie was found to bo fatally wounded. A constable deposed that when Victor was in the hospital he said: "Leslie (•tried to shoot himself, and I tried to ptop him."
