CRICKET.
THE WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. Mr. C. G. Wilson presided over a meeting of th-e management coniinittoo of the Wellington Cricket. Association held <>n Tuesday. The Mount Cook and Clyde Qua}' Schools wore granted two practiuo wickets to be used onco a week, the former to play on Thursday:: and tho latter on Tuesdays.
The Wellington Boys' Cricket League wrote asking for a match between its sonior grade representative team and a third-chss team from the Wellington Association, to bo played on Anniversary Day.—The request was agreed to, ai,id loft in the hands of tho thirdclass championship committee. Tho Old Boys' Club withdrew its B team from the third-class competition.
TJio. City Council granted tho association permission to use tho Basin Reserve on November 13, i 4, and 10, for the Canterbury match, and on. December 25, 26, and 27, for tho Auckland match, udder thfc following conditions:—i. That tho council eollcct. 10 per cent', on tho grass gato receipts, including honorary members' tickets. 2. Tbat the cost of advertisement authorising tho charge for admission be paid for by tho association, viz., Bs. Tho committee decided to send a, letter to tho council protesting against smell an unfair impost. On account of the irregularity of the ferry service, it was decided to postpone indefinitely the match against- Mr. Reese's Canterbury team, which was to have commenced to-morrow.
JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The following aro the junior championship fixtures for November IS and %North v. Artillery, at Basin Reservo No, 4; Central v. Wellington College, at College Ground; Victoria College v- Potoiie, at Petone; Old Boys v. Mental Hospital, at Porirua (train, 1.20 p.m., at Thorndon); East v. Brooklyn, at Basin No. 3; Hutt, a bye.
THIRD-CLASS FIXTURES. The following aro the third-plass matches for Saturday, November 15 Jehnsonvil.lo y. Old Boys A, at Johnsouvillo; Central v. College A, at College; Kafori v. St. David's.) at Fotone; College B r. Institute, at College; Victoria College v. East, at Kelbunio; Petone v. North, Eit Petone; OH Boys B have withdrawn from the championship. The secretary of the- third-class committee requests all clubs to send the results of thoir matches into lii.tn every week. Unless this is done the matures will be counted as draws, and no points will be allotted to either team. Tho secretary's address is Bos 59, Wellington.
