At tho Magistrate's. Court yes-* terday Albert Gibbonswwars r remanded till November 19, on a chargo of his having left New Zealand after a summons was served on him, and before an application for a maintenance order against him was heard. .

For insobriety, Ruby Kirk was fined 10s., Lizzio Murray 10s„ .and Jack Jacobus £3. .

John Troy was remanded till Novem ber 19 on a charge of haying assaulted and. harmed David William Fraser. Bail was fixed at £100.

An information against Georgjj Chandler of having broken, and entered the dwelling of Lowis Stap'.eton, with the intention of committing a erimo, was dismissed. _ Chandler entered the house, but was intoxicated, and did so in mistake for tho place whero he was staying. ley. Alfred Edmund Tom lin son, a young man, was charged that, between September 5, 1913, and October 31, 1913, at Wellington, lie received certain sums of money amounting to £50 3s. 6d, on terms requiring him to account far or pay the same to Gollin and Co. Proprietary, Ltd., and fraudulently omitting to' account for or pay the satno. Another indictment charged the accused with stealing tho sum in question. It was also alleged against the accused that he had stolen the sum of £6 10s., belonging to the British Imperial Oil' Co., Ltd. A fourth charge alleged that the accused had on November 7 v/ilfully set fire to certain books and pajiers of Gollin and Co, Proprietary, Ltd., in their premises, Jervois Quay, with the knowledge that the building was likely to catch fire therefrom. A remand till Wednesday next was made. Bail wa3 fixed at £100.
