MR. REARDON REPLIES.
ONSET ON LABOUR WRECKERS,
Passing reference was made to a portion. of Mr. Rigg's statement by Mr. M. J. Hcardon, when ho was interviewed by a Dominion reporter last evening. "I have made no attack on the watersicto workers," said Mr, Bcardon, "and have not discussed their position. As a matter of fact, unionists with whom I am identified have expressed disapproval of tho abuso of the Arbitration' Act by the registration of the new Arbitration Union, and the general labourers have contributed to the distress fund of tho strikers. What I did was to criticise the attitude of a handful of men who control tho affair and whom I regard as wreckers of the Labour cause. Of course, the term traitor' is common in the conversation of men in that school. It has been hurled at some of the really big naen in tits Labour movement. Keir Bardie, Ramsay Maedanald, and Philip Snowden have all been dubbed 'traitor' in their day. Another thing," observed Mr. Reardon in conclusion, "is that 1 did not express any opinion on the matter until the Federation leaders proposed to encroach, upon the organisations with which I am identified."
