Mendel Beiliss, the Jewish clerk, charged at KielE with the murder of a Christian lad named I'ushchinsky, has been acquitted. The jury deliberated for two hoars. Beiliss, apparently in a state of coma, re-entered tho dock escorted by two officers and five soldiers. When he realised tho verdict ho collapsed, and sobbed convulsively. "Times"—Sydney "Sun" Special Cablea (Rec. November 11, 6 p.m.) St. Petersburg, November 11. Kieff was feverishly excited during the closing scenes of the Beiliss trial. Hundreds of peasants belonging to the Black Hand, drunk with vodka, used insulting remarks to passers-by, indiscriminately of race.

The Court was crowded with fashionably dressed women, who havo been paying high prices for seats during the trial. Beiliss was guarded, in Court by five soldiers, with drawn swords. M. Maklakosv, the defending counsel, in his address to the Court said: "If you convict this man it will not only be Beiliss, but Russian Justice that you will convict. Not a single fact has been proved against him The Black Hand is attempting to prove the undcsirability of allowing Jews to live among us."
