A TERRIBLE INDICTMENT.
ALBANIANS COMPELLED TO DIG THEIR GRAVES. By Tdcirraph—Press Association—Copyrighi Vienna, November 10. Before the European Commission, Albanian fugitives made a terrible indictment against tho Servians, alleging that villagers in newly annexed districts had been forced to dig their own graves before being massacred. Nineteen had been strangled with telegraph wiros near Striiga. Elsewhere, Servians locked the ' inhabitants in their burning houses to avoid the trouble of burial. MR. ASQUITH REVIEWS THE ' BALKAN SITUATION. (Rec. November 11, 10.20 p.m.) London, November 11. The Primo Minister (Mr. Asquith), replying to the toast of "The Government" at t/lie Lord Mayor's Banquet in tho Guildhall, said, in tho course of his speech, that tho Balkan conflict had 'happily ceased. Things had been done, beyond the inevitable horrors of war, whijh had shocked and repelled the wholo civilised world, and although' the Powers had shown themselves impotent to prevent or curtail tho bloodshed, it was a satisfactory feature of the war that its area, had been circumscribed. The Powers had much to do in connection with the future of Albania.
He felt gratified that Asia Minor had not been involved in the conflict. If invited, Great Britain would gladly assist in' the development of Asia Minor.
