MR YOUNG'S REPLY.
"THEY ARE PRETTY WELL ALT, OUT." Mr. W. T. Young (secretary of the Wellington Seamen's Union) was in* tervieiyed at a late hour last evening regarding tbe action taken, in calling out the seamen. As to tbo formal denial by the Dunedin and Auckland delegates that tho men had been called out, ho remarked: "My answer to that is that they, are all out." Questioned as to whether tlio Crews of New Zealand ships only had been called out, Mr. Young replied that the Moana was under Australian articles and her men wero out. "It is too lato to talk about calling tbe seamen out," he repeated, "for tbey are-pretty Well all out already. I am afraid tho Dunedin and Auckland delegates have 'missed the 'buis.'"
Asked whether tho conference proposed by the visiting delegates for today wonld take place, Mr. Young replied: "Most likely. It will decide, I suppose," he added, "when tbey are to go back again." _ The notice to terminate their employment, Mr. Young stated, was given by the seamen at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and took effect at 11 a.m. yesterday, twenty-four hours later. He could not furnish definite particulars as to the number of crews that bad come out, but stated that he had received telegrams from different parts of tbo Dominion whicb indicated that practically.all the crews had left their ships.
