CARTERTON.
A meeting of the General Committee of tho Wairarapa Horticultural and Industrial Society was held on Friday afternoon, Mf. A. Booth, president, in the chair. Special prizes were allotted to a number of classes, and it was arrsanged to hold a guessing competition during the show. Mr. A. King gonerously donated a lamb for the purpose. The Wairarapa P. and A. Society wrote granting tho use of the Agricultural Hall for the show on Saturday, November 29. The following w,ere appointed judges:—Messrs. Weightman (Feildingl, H. Poole (Wellington), Mesdames Baillie and W. Martin (Marf.inboron rji). and Mesdames 0. R. Smith and W. Wood (Masterton). Tho following ■ were appcinted stewards:—Class 1: Messrs. .T. G. Oates, J. Snell, J. M. Beechey. Class 2: Messrs. W. H. Booth, A. L. Hadfield. Class 3: Messrs. J. M. Nicholls, .T. C. Harp, and E. Eagle, jnn. Class 4: Messrs. W. Abbott, A. King, and E. Tunnicliffe. Class 5: Mrs. Iladlield and Miss Telford. Class 6: Mesdames Colo and King. Local productions: Mrs. Englo and Miss-Feist. Tea-room: Miss Eva Booth, Mesdames Eagle, Beard, and Abbott. Several minor details were attended to, and the next meeting was fixed for Friday, November 24.
