This was shown at tho recent Glasgow Exy* bitiou, wive re its beauty created a great amount of interest. Tin' fountain has a huge circular tank full of water, in tho middle of which is a recess. containing a very largo number of big .jots. : Urt-. , der the tank is a poworfsiL pu'mpiiig. apand. a battery of ijlecwic arc-, lamps similar to tlioso vised in s'fiarchliH'htsi.. Tho water is tiirowiv by tho pumps to a height of over sixty ■foot, and this' alone, V diiylig'ht, is said to be a -splendid sight. But it is at night thai the l'onnt-iin ]•. at /is best. Then the arc-Jumps, which ar.o completely liidden, are so® burning, and their rays are projected upwards into tho water., illuminating it vitii wonderful brilliancy.
