At a meeting of the Council of tho New Soutlv Wales Riflo Association tlio report of the executive expressed regret that tlio King's Pri/.0. at the recent championship meeting had been awarded to M'Alister, feeling suro that tho Council s wont of firmness in upholding the regulation would lead to futuro troublo. Tho match for the King's Prize provided an exciting finish between M'Alister and Edwards. M'Alister was docked 4 points for 'allegedly exceeding the timelimit by one shot. He protested, and tho points were restored to his score. The two men then finished leva], the scores being 205 all. On tho shoot-off (throe shots) M'Alister won by a point. The Council of the Rifle Association, by seven votes to six, awarded tho prize to M'Alister.
