The annual meeting of No, 4 Company of the N.Z. Engineers was held in St. : Peter's Schoolroom last. eveningj tailv I). J. Gibbs presiding. After advising those present on tho necessity of returning all rifles and bayonets in consooueiieo fif' the present industrial crisis, tko chairman ivcnt on to deal with the work of the company for tho year. Ho stated that' Colonel Johnston had expressed himself as being very pleased With the work donb -audi enthusiasm displayed by members Of the corps. _ Tho speaker then suggested that committees should be appointed to carry out social functions which other companies had held with some degree or success. Tje also mentioned that .a----•movo was being made in the direction of reacquf'riiig the old -frill dress* uniforms used by members of the company prior to the territorial system. All parades from date had been cancelled owing to tho strike, and this factor' interfered somewhat with_ tho coming shooting competitions," which commence on' NavcniliO'r 15- As tbo hfl.rnoS'B far tho horses* Captain Gibbs stated! that it had beer, ordered, and he- understood that it was now on its way. out to New Zealand. The financial position of tho corps was satisfactory, tbero being a credit balance of £7 l'Ss. 3d.
