An informal gathering of seamen, called this morning, was attended b.v nvcr'LOO, members of the Seamen's Union Certain aspects. of the present, trouble on the waterfront were considered. The meeting was quite* unofficial, but it was decided by a. big majoiif? that the crew of the Tofua was quite justified in taking the ship -to sea. A member of the <irow told a "Star" rcportor that the 6eamen recognised that they had certain obligations to fulfil, and this was a case where it was proper that they should abido by the spirit of tho agreement.

They stated 'that they concurred with the action of tho .Tiasters and officers, who met at Dunediii on Tuesday, and,assured tlie Union Company of their absolute loyalty.
