HEALTH OF WOMEN & CHILDREN * A meeting of the Society for tho Health of Women and Children was held yesterday aftenoon,. Mrs. Algar Williams presiding. There were present: Mesdames W. F. Massey, fitchott, Chapman, M'Lean, \V. F. Ward, Birkett, Ji'Vicar, and Miss Clark. Apolbgies for their non-attendance ivcro received from Lady Stout, Lady Gibbes, Mrs. Kane, Mrs. Ponsonby, Mrs. Atkinson, Mrs. Kirkcaldie, Misses Stewart. Cable, and M'Lellau. The report for the past month stated that tho nurses had been kept busily at work. There were 31 new cases for treatment, and 377 eases had been treated during that month. In addition, 231 visits had been paid by tlio nurses to various homes in the district, and 137 mothers had visited tlio rooms in Vivian Street for advice. Much correspondence had been transacted. The new book, "The Feeding and Care of Baby," is expected to arrive in Wellington during the next fortnight. A meeting i» connection with tho society is to be held' at Petone, and several ladies of the committee will go out from town to attend it. A Plunket nurso is, it is said, badly wanted there.
PEDIGREE SHOW STOCK SALE. The opportunity is one that should be of distinct advantage to all interested in dairying. Tho sale, which will commence at 10 o'clock sharp, will bo conducted by Messrs.
