BANKRUPTCY COURT.
THE AFFAIRS OF A BUILDER. Henry Edward Manning, a wellknown Wellington builder, was yesterday adjudicated bankrupt by the Chie ; f Justice (Sir Robert Stout) on tlio petition of Herbert Wakemnn and Alexander Johnson, plumbers, Wellington, for whom Mr. Von Haast appeared, Mr. A. W. Blair opposing tho application. THE SOMERVILLE CASE. Judgment was given by the Chief Justico in tho case heard on Saturday in which William George Somerville, at one time a solicitor at Wellington, and now residing at Taumftrumii, applied for his discharge from bankruptcy. • The Official Assignee opposed the application, and Mr. 0. Beero represented bankrupt. His Honour, delivering verbal judgment, pointed out that the report of the Official Assignee was an unfavourable one, and he could grant an unconditional discharge in view of all the circumstances. He therefore made an order for the discharge, but it would not take effect for two years:
