ROSS RECONSTRUCTED. The weekly report, dated October 29, ol tho mine superintendent is as follows:— Mine 6th level, branch: This drive lias been extended 28 feet for/ tho week, and is now 92 feet E. of No. 3 shoot. It is still carrjring a little gold, but l not payable. No. 2 shoot, main level: South drive off this shoot has been extendod to 30 feot. At a distanco of 22 feet from tho shoot E._ and W. drives havo been opened and driven, 16 feot and 8 feet respectively. In these drives, tho bottom has dipped underfoot, and thoy havo been stopped for tho present, so that longer legs can bo put in to pick up tho bottom. . This work will be completed by tho end of tho week, when driving will bo resumed. Tho wash in tlio faces of these drives is not so thick as was met with when tho shoot was risen— it being only "3ft. thick, find for the height the value i 6 from 1 to ljgr. to tho dish. Uassius workings: The north and south main drive in Caecius has been repaired sufficiently far to enable two drives to be opened on tho south sido. These faces were opened this morning, and started in payable wash. Transmission line: Ono faulty insulator'wa6 found during tho week arrangements aro ma do to have it renewed this afternoon. The power plant is in its ufluiil condition, cmd there is no chflTitrw to report in the condition of tho raco and tunnels.
