PRIEST'S FIERY ADDRESS.
HIS VISION OF THE "BATTLEFIELD." By Telcsraph—Press Ausoclallon—Copyright Sydnoy, Novembor 3. Speaking at a meeting of tho Reman Catholic Federation, Father O'Reilly warmly attacked a section of tho press iot its alleged neglect of Roman Catholic claims. He declared: "Tho fact is that tho Roman Catholic voters have got their blood up. Wo are thoroughly aroused, and when the time comes we will hit Jiard, and not leave a foe standing on tho battlefield." The Rev. M. J. O'Reilly, president of St. Stanislaus College, recently made a startling statement of his political faith. "We Catholics are too; apologetic," said Father O'Reilly. "A great many peoplo on hearing our griovanccs say, 'If Australia is not good enough for , them, let them, out.' We have been jutting up with this kind of thing too long Wo are going to organise and deal wit.v our opponents in the most effective way--that' is, by the ballot-bos. It is all very well for Mr. Cleary (president of the Catholic Federation of New South Wales) to tell me that tho federation is not political. I tell you it is. He i_s right when he says that we are riot going to identify ourselves with any political-party. We are going to sell ourselves to the highest bidder. We shall bo in tho market by and by. I have for a great many years been voting Labour, but that does not mean that I am for tho Labour, ticket all the time. I will vote another ticket to-mor-row if it suits me. I take it that is tho motto of tho federation." ■
