Tho Budget Sub-Cominitteo has adopted a motion approving- tho ment's policy of making the shipping of Austria moro independent- of the North Atlantic Shipping Trust. It suggests, especially, tho freeing of the emigration traffic from tho trust's exploitation.
AVOIDING MILITARY SERVICE. Vienna, October 31. It is understood that tho report of tho Parliamentary Committee of- ' Inquiry set up in connection with the charges against shipping companies of assisting in tho emigration of men desirous of avoiding military service exonerates tho Canadian Paeifio Railroad Company's agents of the major Charge, but points out that the-inereaso in the number of I emigrants originat«l m tho distress in Galicia and r ' other provinces.
Herr B-allin (lioad of the HamburgAmcrika Line), in a letter read before tho Committee, states that neither, tho German Government nor the HamburgAmorika Lino could refrain from forwarding the Austro-llungarians who were liablo to military service unless tho British Belgian, Dutch, and French Governments and other steamship lmcs g»vo similar undertakings.
