The. mooting was fairly well attended. flio action caused considerable surprise locally, as the union is registered under tho Arbitration Court. Westporti November 2. Everything is quiet at Wesiport, not a boat, apart from tho Harbour Hoard flotilla, being in port. The local Strike Executive is holding numerous meetings to discuss the situation. A mass meeting was hold at Denniston yesterday, and it was resolved to mako common cause with Wellington and Huntly, and to remain on strike until they had gained victory. All horses are to be taken out of the nii.no to-morrow. There has been a big run on flour, sugar, potatoes, and other lines. Tho Ungulns, which had 1000 bags of chaff for Westport, was signalled on to Grcymouth, whore she is loading. It is not known whether sho returns to Wostport on her way north. Tho Seddonvillo State mine is idle thraimh there being 110 outlet for coiU. A'l tho bins and available trucks me full.
