(By Tolegrajxh.—Special Correspondent.) Naplef, October 31. Only one bankruptcy was recorded in Napier duriug October. The Swan Memorial Fund has now reached £138 Bs. 6d. During October there were 48 births, 26, deaths, and 20 marriages in Napier. For the corresponding month last year *thero were 36 births, 18 deaths, and 18 marriages. Tho SaVelock Town Board have accepted thy following tenders in connection with water sewerage and lighting cxmtraots:—P. It. Baillie and Co., Wellington, ironbark polos and cross arms, £918 0s fid.; Richardson and M'Cabo, Wellington, cables and copper conductors, £1.207 3s. fid.; Stewart, and Lloyds, Wellington, steel water-pipes, £3495 2s. 7d.; Mason and Struthere, Ohristehurch, cast-iron water-pipes, £3458 17s. lid.; Cement Pipe .Co,, Hastings, drainage pipes, £2166 17s.
